Another wonderful technology tool is the flip cameras. These small video cameras have one-button operation, which makes it easy for students and teachers alike to operate. Cost of these cameras is relatively low compared to most technology that is used in the classroom. One button to start/stop will catch all the action in the classroom. One day students may record a reader’s theater to post on the classroom website. Another day may bring two students showcasing their understanding of problem solving in math by creating a rap. While yet on another, a teacher can record the fluency of a child at specific points in the school year to document reading growth throughout the year to place in a digital portfolio.

Mimio Boards
Picture
These Mimio boards are similar to Smart boards, they allow teachers to interact with the white board. Sensors are also in place so the teacher may use a pen to control the pointer being used. Teachers maneuver through websites, graphs and other lessons using this technology. Students can even participate by using the board for PowerPoint presentations. This would be a great way for students to learn with an interactive learning environment. And with the ability to do PowerPoint presentations they could even teach the entire class with a group project!

Skype
Just found this cool thing called Skype! A lot of people use it to talk to people that live in other states or friends and family overseas. But this can also be used in the classroom too. Imagine teaching a Spanish class where you could actually talk with kids from Mexico with Skype in the classroom. That would really speed up the process in which students learn a new language.
